Fifty Foot Hose - Cauldron

Limelight [1967]

Sorry it's been a short while... Was in San Francisco and LA for a bit pretending to be a musician...

Here we have the first album by San Francisco's original psychedelic noise machine.
These guys spearheaded an experimental rock movement that would inspire the likes of Chrome and Throbbing Gristle.
Musically, we have a culmination of classic San Francisco jam music, jazz, psychedelia, and home-made electronic noise instruments, all piling atop one another in the best possible ways.
Think of this as Krautrock from the States...
The jazzy noise parts make me think of MITB (No, that's not far-fetched) while the soaring space theremin gives me flashbacks of Acid Mothers Temple...
And you...?

The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge

Statik [1983]

This is inspirational. This is goth-y post-punk. I don't know what else to say about it. I love this record.

Tit Wrench - Full Employment

Vinyl Communications [1993]

I thought I already posted this but I guess not...?

Here is a compilation of "songs" by southern California's greatest electro-noise-punk band. I know, I know... That's a big statement to make. Well I'm a big man with a big brain and I get to say whatever I want cuz I'm overwhelmingly intelligent...
Also, Tit Wrench are amazing and all to unappreciated... I think. We are talking a non-stop assault of squealing synthesizers and comically buzzsaw-ish guitar shreddery over poorly planned drum machine sequences and a vocalist who is pretty much just Sam McPheeters... Oh ya... And the samples...

Now I'm sure your all clamoring for the download link at this point, but if by some strange reason you're not, then watch this all too confusing live performance and tell me you don't want to hear more....

White Lung - It's the Evil

Deranged [2010]

More punk from Vancouver. Saw these guys last night and they played pretty good. I liked it. These Vancouver kids have this thing where they dress real clean but play punk real nasty. We like that.

Pixeltan - Pixeltan EP

Troubleman Unlimited [2001]

This sounds like New York... Like mid- 70's, early 80's New York... Think Liquid Liquid doing poor Suicide covers while Black Dice hangs out in the background... No, I don't know who invited Black Dice but there here so no need to be rude.

I guess these guys put out some other stuff after this but who cares... You know?...

Nu Sensae - TV, Death and the Devil

Nominal [2010]

I saw Nu Sensae again the night before last at a hip little punk bar in Portland. The night started quietly, but quickly escalated into an all out frenzy of magical proportions. After an inspiring set from the rainbow rockers Gaytheist, a trio of mangy kids took the stage and shit got nuts. PEOPLE WERE DANCING... IN PORTLAND. Now, if you've never had the pleasure of attending a punk show in this beautiful city, then you probably understand my excitement. It's probably the constant gray cloud overhead that's the cause, but people here don't seem to understand the concept of moving anything but your neck in this town. This night, though, people were writhing with a fervency that could only be described as inspiring.
As such, here is the first full length from the (then) duo known as Nu Sensae. It sounds like Vancouver, BC....

Dog Faced Hermans - Humans Fly/ Every Day Timebomb

Konkurrel/ EFA [1991]

This release chronicles the first EP and full length from Scotland's greatest band. These anarcho-noise-punks were good friends with The Ex and it is evident. When these guys get going its all dissonant grooves and scratchy rhythms.

Pre - Epic Fits

Skin Graft/ Lovepump United [2007]

I don't know why this has not been posted yet. This used to get a lot of play in my earholes a few years ago. Music from a magical time in the mid-2000's when neo-no-wave-art-punk-noise-rock was rampant in the streets. This is what that phenomenon sounded like in London....

Nice cock...

Liquid Liquid - Liquid Liquid

Mo Wax [1997]

I'm not as inclined to post compilation's as they are mainly for Dads and nerds...
That being said, I would like you to ignore the previously stated sentiment and enjoy this collection of songs from New York's greatest disco-punk group.
Represented here is the Optimo LP, the Successive Reflexes 12", the Self Titled 12", and some live tracks from Berkeley Square in 1982 (in that order).

Stan Getz - Reflections

Verve [1963]

After a slew of hit Bossa Nova records, Getz came out with this controversially pop-py thing. Some people hate it. I like it.
