Hush [2006]
I feel we have been ignoring the softer side of the bed recently....
Norfolk & Western's "A Gilded Age" represents some of the most beautifully orchestrated folk rock music your ears will ever get to hear. As opposed to earlier recordings where dusty acousticism is king, A Gilded Age explores the full spectrum of the band's musical prowess (and does so with the greatest fidelity of any previos work). The compositions are diverse, bouncing from whispy folk ballads to fuzzed-out indie jams, all the while holding to a sort of light, lackadaisical feel.
In short, this is good. Listen to it with your earholes please. Thanks.
