GREETINGS. So as all good music bloggers will do, I have been dreadfully neglectful of new uploads, link requests, and pretty much everything else in my life. I really am sorry, I met this girl named Spotify a while back and, well, we're in love...

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by my old watering hole and an let you guys know what I've been up to since I been gone. Basically, it's LUNCH, a lot of Lunch. We got this new tape here if you wanna give it a little listen. More importantly, LIKE US ON FACEBOOK cuz we have really low self esteem.

Finally, we are on this DELI "Artist of the Month" poll and we TOTALLY NEED YOUR HELP to crush some awful solo "indie" thing that keeps getting a bunch of votes (presumably from their family members...).

Like any good punks, Portland's Lunch makes loud, fun music for questionable people.
Poised with fistfuls of thick guitar, pounding rhythms, and copious amounts of attitude, the quartet paints a range post-pop-punk melodies around a barrage of salacious lyricism. The influences involved look much The Gun Club playing Buzzcocks songs in the style of Wire. Mostly, though, it sounds like an upbeat collection of garage-y punk songs played with as much gusto as the rainy weather will allow. The band's first full length, "Quinn Touched the Sun", is throbbing musical effort filled with garage-pop anthems and post-punk ballads for any and all people who want to move their feet.

"Lunch play with a complete loss of inhibition that’s captured perfectly by latest cassette, Quinn Touched the Sun. Unbridled energy sweeps through their lo-fi recordings; dominated by fuzzy guitar riffs, chugging bass, pulsing drums and anarchic vocal shouts. So I finally got around to looking the mediafire account and was absolutely floored at how many of the files have been restricted for copyright. I mean, we have all been watching this whole file sharing thing deteriorate recently but I am still committed to to sharing music with you guys. I guess it's time to switch to another host, though. As is often the case, this little update focuses on something that has been audibly harassing me quite frequently as of late. Some people have called these guys the Rolling Stones of Uruguay. I call them fun as fuck.
The vocalist sings in english and sounds like he has a French accent for no reason. Perfect.
These recordings span the years of 1965-1967.

Let me first say that I no longer have this release in it's physical form and finding information obtaining to it has been a pain (to say the least). I suppose this makes sense since this release was apparently a major flop and neither of these guys were ever much more than obscure. That being said, this album is AMAZING. The reason it got so little attention is because most people's heads are filled with applesauce or something.
El Paso Hot Button is a one man extravaganza of cock-splosive proportions. As with Mickey Reece's previous releases, this offering is a grove-filled sonic experiment with a little bit of noise and a lot of NASTINESS.
Attractive and Popular bring us that sex-drenched mid-2000's electro-sass with the sass turned up to 11.

The electric eels - God Says Fuck You

Presented here is the second of many posthumous formal releases showcasing the incredible talent the was The electric eels. Formed in Cleveland in 1972, this bunch of proto-artpunk terrorists spent most of their time fighting their audiences and getting arrested for being drunk. Their shows included the essential instrumentation of running lawn mowers and booming sheet metal. I don't know why, but sometimes I think they sound like Some Velvet Sidewalk.
The electric eels are the best thing you heard about today and I love them.

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. Been out and about. I'm also sorry that I have never posted anything from Eat Skull. It becomes more and more apparent to me as time goes on that I am much more stupid than I think I am.
Anyway, if you don't already know, Eat Skull are a beautifully lo-fi pop/ noise/ garage punk outfit from Portland, OR. They were part of that whole "shitgaze" scene that prevailed during the later half of the last century. Last time I saw these dudes they were really drunk.
This is their second album and it's better than their first. I mean, it's not a lot better, but it is indeed better. You know?...

This is the singles collection that came after the aforementioned debut. It's not quite as good as "We Are..." but it's got some amazing gems on it that must not be missed. This is some top notch 90's lo-fi indie for your earholes folks.
