Heart of a Champion [2003]
This is the first album by Los Angeles noise rock duo Qui and it is lovely. This was put out years before Yow joined the band. It's a little rougher than Love's Miracle for sure (in a good way I think). It's raw, math-y, and a bit catchy to boot. I won't say I like it more than LM, but it does have a powerful maturity that holds up strongly to the Yow-adapted later works.
